‘Dawood, Chhota Shakeel’s name added to IPL spot-fixing FIR’

A highly placed source in the Special Cell of Delhi police said, 'The names of underworld dons, Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, will be added in the First Information Report (FIR) filed regarding the spot-fixed IPL.'

Five days ago, a senior police official in Special Cell of Delhi police has confirmed the strong involvement of underworld in the spot-fixing scandal in IPL. Earlier the sources also said, 'Dawood and Shakeel are being named as the accused in the sandal and their names are likely to be mentioned in the chargesheet to be filed by Delhi police.'

The source said, ' They have started the legal proceedings to arrest them. We have asked the concerned authorities to renew the Red Corner notice, issue new Letter Rogatory and Warrant against the duo.'

Evidences along with telephonic intercepting records – made calls to Dubai, Karachi and other cities of Pakistan, have been collected that proves that the bookies were in touch with the underworld and were using their network to remain active in the spot-fixing scandal.

'These intercepted calls will act as an evidence against the underworld dons,' the source added.
