On Monday, a gentleman named Adv. Sunny Kumar Gautam, accompanied by Yadav’s daughter Gudiya claimed the body of the mastermind of the sensational June 2 Mathura violence.
Gautam, claimed to be the legal spokesperson of Yadav clan, met Uttar Pradesh police officials in Mathura city and avowed the suspense over Yadav’s death.
The ADG law and order of Uttar Pradesh Daljeet Singh confirmed the protagonist’s death on June 4, after the two days of the mishap. The body was identified by one of the close aides of Ram Vriksh Yadav and member of Swadheen Bharat Subhash Sena.
UP police officials talked to reporters about the cremation of identified charred body, which had already done after the postmortem by the force. They also asserted that the force waited for Yadav’s family members who reside in Gazipur (UP) for three days. They even appealed through newspapers. But none came to recognise and claim the body.
Sections of the local population are suspicious that the declaration of Ram Vriksh’s death could be a ploy to keep under wraps the many skeletons that he was believed to have in his cupboard. A ‘dead’ Ram Vriksh would seal many doors that could have exposed his conduits that kept him far above the reach of the law of the 280 acre government land.
His proximity to Shivpal Yadav, Uttar Pradesh’s most powerful multi-portfolio minister is already being talked about in the state’s corridors of power. Shivpal is Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger brother and chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle.
Significantly, Ram Vriksh was also receiving a special monthly pension of Rs 15,000, that was started by an earlier Mulayam government, which then took a decision to give pension to all those who were imprisoned under stringent laws like Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during the Emergency.
Many pertinent questions are being raised in this regard. It is said that the official declaration of Ram Vriksh’s death came only after prolonged parleys between top members of the ruling dispensation on Friday night.
