Dare to dream often

If art is the imitation of life, photography then comes closest to life itself. Ever since the discovery of the camera, artistes have used this medium to bring reality to an immortal point of stand still, capturing life as they see it and as they want to see it. Of course, now are the days of Photoshop and Instagrams but despite such interventions, photography is still as magical as it used to be.  And DLF Promenade has just the thing for you.

Apart from shopping, this time you can get indulge into something new as DLF promenade brings  hosts the  photography exhibition titled Dream Often by Sakshi Kumar.  The show will also have a workshop by the young artiste. The workshop would include a study of lighting and equipment, editing, lenses and their usage, etc. publications.There will be two batches. The first batch is work on 21 and 22 June and whereas the second batch will be working on 28 and 29 June  from 11.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Inspired by things that surround and shape her, the photographs are an extension of her vision and outlook on life. As a curious soul hungry to explore more her exhibition speaks of the joy and meaning she gains from the books she has read, roads she has travelled, people she has met and music that has touched her soul.  

Kumar, the 22 years old artiste is a self taught photographer whose work has been featured in many other leading publications. She is medical student whose passion for photography turned into a profession when 20 of her concept photographs got selected in Vogue Italia online profile. She has also been featured as the photographer of the month for Digit. Her recent collaboration with a wedding production team was picked by biggies in India.

Kumar says, ‘When I started photography seriously I thought I have picked up a fun hobby. One year later, I realised that photography has become my passion and it started nuturing my creativity in full blown pictures’.

She further adds, ‘Life is full of ups and downs, joys and sorows, good and bad things and photography started acting as a source of great energy and stress buster in bad times.’
  Commenting on her passion she futher says, ‘My passion has been growing exponentially each year and now I think that photography has become a part and parcel of my life and lifestyle’. The exhibition is to be watched for. So head over!
