DA case: 3-year RI for ex-health ministry official

The special judge, Saket courts, has convicted Vishwa Vibhuti, the then assistant director general, medical stores, ministry of health & family welfare, Government of India, (retired) for the offences u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the PC Act, 1988 and sentenced him to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs. 75 lakh.

CBI had  registered a case on 15 May 1996 against Vibhuti on the allegations that from June, 1985 to March, 1995,  he had amassed movable and immovable assets in his name and in the name of his family members to the tune of Rs.72,69,258 which were disproportionate to his known sources of income. Vibhuti was found in possession of movable and immovable assets to the tune of Rs.19,00,851 in his name.
