Customs official found dead in Paharganj hotel

A 46-year-old customs official, Arjun B Pawar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Paharganj area of central Delhi on Friday morning. His body was found in room number 402 of Avtar Hotel.
On Tuesday, the official had arrived from Goa as part of a 12-member delegation to attend a seminar on the sixth pay commission.
According to the police, Pawar had attended the seminar on Thursday and went to his room after dinner. A hotel staff suspected something wrong when <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Pawar didn’t open his door after repeated knocks next morning.
‘The door was broken in our presence and we found Pawar’s body on the bed,’ said a police officer.
Police are awaiting <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Pawar’s post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
