Cruelty against animals: Canine shot in Gurgaon

The animal’s owner, Subhash Yadav, told the police the incident took place in the wee hours of Saturday. Yadav, a transporter, said the dog, Julie, lived in his office-cum-parking lot. A case has been registered against unidentified assailants.

Yadav told the police that Julie was in the room while he and staff were doing some work on the fateful night. Suddenly, they heard a gunshot and Julie ran outside, while they continued with their work. When the men heard another gunshot, they too came out to check only to find Julie running towards them, yelping in pain. They realised that Julie was shot in the neck, the police said.

“An FIR has been registered under Section 428  of the IPC and Arms Act at Sector 55/56 police station. We are probing the case,” said ACP Hawa Singh.

In March, a serial dog killer had slaughtered three puppies at the Green park Metro station in Delhi.
