Croation tourist kills self in South Delhi hotel

Nupur Prasad, Additional DCP (South) said that in the preliminary investigation, they found self inflicted injuries on his elbow through shards of glass from the window of his room. Police have informed the Croatian Embassy and Nenad’s body has been sent to AIIMS mortuary for post-mortem.

According to the police, Kresoja used to work in a school in Croatia and came to Delhi on Tourist Visa. Before coming to India, Kresoja had visited China and Nepal. Senior police officials said that they are still ascertaining at which position was Kresoja working in the school.

“Kresoja checked in at the hotel on July 14. On Saturday, his family tried to get in touch with him. But he did not take their calls. Kresoja’s family then contacted a local Delhi contact and requested him to go and check at the hotel. The person went to the hotel and enquired about Kresoja after which a call was made from the reception,” said a senior police official.

“The call made from the reception went unanswered after which the staff was sent to the room with a spare key. The staff opened the room door to see Kresoja lying in a pool of blood,” added the officer. Police have initiated a case under Section 174 of the CrPC (Inquest Proceedings). Family members of the deceased has also been informed. Further investigation is on.
