Crime Branch busts gang of robbers, arrests three

Crime Branch of the Delhi Police busted a gang of robbers by arresting three persons out of which one was a history sheeter at Lahori Gate police station and have recovered two country-made pistols, one Wagon R car, three stolen mobile phones and several other firearms. The three accused persons have been identified as Mohd Riyaz (28), Ahsaan (26) and Mohd Farhaj Khan (26).

“Out of these three, Mohd Riyaz is an active bad character who is involved in more than 20 cases of armed robberies. He came in contact with Ahsaan in jail and later was joined by Farhaj who was arrested first time in an auto-theft case. Led by Riyaz, they have robbed many people in the city and are known to carry firearms with them,” said a senior police official. According to the police, on December 1, they got a tip off and subsequently nabbed them.
