The Delhi high court on Monday asked the city police to file a status report on rape charges made by a married woman against a doctor.
The woman had alleged that the doctor raped her on the pretext of getting her son admitted to a Central University.
Justice Sunil Gaur asked the police to file the report by 10 May on an anticipatory bail, of one Yaseen Ahmad.
Filing a petition in the court, Ahmed claimed himself to be a doctor presently posted at All India Institute of Medical Science. He sought anticipatory bail on the grounds that he has been falsely implicated in the case and that the complainant is his wife.
The man also claimed he has the copy of his marriage certificate with the woman as evidence. To his submission, the court asked police to verify the documents and the certificates submitted by the man and file the report by next date.
