Court issues fresh warrant against Jundal

A special NIA court issued fresh production warrant on Thursday for May 30 against suspected LeT terrorist and one of the masterminds of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Abu Jundal, who was chargesheeted by the probe agency for allegedly recruiting youths for the terror outfit.

According to court sources, Jundal was scheduled to be produced before District Judge (DJ) I S Mehta on Thursday but the jail authorities informed the court that he was not brought to Delhi from Arthur Road prison in Mumbai, where he is currently lodged. The court issued fresh production warrant against Jundal directing jail authorities to produce him before it on 30 May. Jundal was chargesheeted by National Investigation Agency for offences punishable under the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for his deliberate attempts for recruiting persons to join Lashker-e-Taiba.
