Couple robbed at gunpoint in east Delhi

Early on Friday morning, a family in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area were robbed at gunpoint. The accused stole Rs. 12 lakhs from the family. So far no one has been arrested.
The incident took place at 1.30 am in Ram Colony in Shakarpur, when Asgar Ali was sleeping in his room. There was a knock on the door, and when he opened the door three armed assailants pushed him inside and entered the house.
'One of the accused was known to the victim. Recently, Ali had sold his flat and a portion of the money received had been kept at home. The assailants held the family at gunpoint and took Rs. 12 lakh in cash,' it has been said.
Ali, who is originally from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, lives with his wife. He is employed in a private company in south Delhi. His son is a college student in Bangalore.
'On the basis of the description given by Ali, we have started a man-hunt to nab all three accused. A case under appropriate sections of Indian Penal
Code has been registered against the robbers and investigation is on, the official added.
