‘Couple’ found dead in Narela

On Monday morning bodies of a couple, reportedly relatives, were found under mysterious circumstances in a tempo in outer Delhi’s Narela area.

A passer-by made a call to the police control room in the morning informing them of the discovery of two bodies in a parked tempo. When a team of cops reached the spot, they found a man in his late twenties and a girl in her mid-twenties lying unconscious with blue lips. They were rushed to the nearby hospital where the two were declared brought dead.

‘Initial investigation indicates that the couple committed suicide but it could be a case of honour killing,’ a police officer said.

They were identified late on Monday evening as Poonam (23) and his brother-in-law’s wife, Manisha (21). They had allegedly fallen in love with each other, but were finding it difficult to start a life together. A case under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal code has been registered at Narela police station.
