With monsoon covering the entire country two days in advance, India has received four per cent more rain as lightning killed two people in Uttar Pradesh. The flood situation in Assam remained unchanged in Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Morigaon, Barpeta, Biswanath and Jorhat districts where 1.11 lakh people are affected. Authorities have opened 16 relief camps in Golaghat and Jorhat districts, housing 2,821 people.
However, in MP, where 22 people died in the floods, life came back to normalcy with virtually no rain since Wednesday. In Maharashtra's Nashik, Army managed to rescue three persons stranded on an island in Kadva river amid heavy downpour at Kundewadi village in Niphad taluka after almost 10 hours of effort.
In UP, lightning claimed two lives in Bhadohi district as light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred at few places in the state.
