Yogender Chandolia, Chairman, Standing Committee, North Delhi Municipal Corporation has hit back on the corruption charges of Delhi government on leaders of the three municipal corporations in the city. Taking a strong exception to the ‘unfounded and vague charges’ by Delhi government, he alleged that congress leaders and Delhi government have forgotten the political decency to be followed in public statements.
‘Congress has surely seen its own reflections in a mirror where, besides many other cases of corruption, connivance of power distribution companies and commonwealth games scam have been revealed,’ said Chandolia. ‘ The reports of CWG and Shunglu Committee are haunting the government and its ministers,’ alleged Chandolia.
Chandolia further alleged that the Delhi government is not serious in regularising the unauthorised colonies, which were given provisional regularisation certificates nearly five year ago.
‘Had the Government been honest in regularisation of the unauthorised colonies, then they would have been regularised already. To blame the corporations in the delay in regularisation is nothing but a political ploy to hide their intentions to linger on the matter till it is favourably settled with the land mafia,’ alleged Chandolia.
He has also said that the Delhi government after trifurcation of the erstwhile Delhi municipal corporation is interfering in the day to day working of these corporations by calling the senior officers.
