Cops quiz Col Ahlawat in sex racket case, likely to be arrested

“During interrogation, Sanyal told police that the women foreign nationals were supplied by Ahlawat. Ahlwat had good terms with several politicians, bureaucrats, cricket players. Many big names used to visit Ahlawat’s farmhouse in South Delhi where white beauty was allegedly in a huge demand,” a source said.
It is important to mention that Ahlawat’s name cropped up when the 23-year-old Russian woman was rescued from Sanyal’s residence in South Delhi during the I-T raid. She told police that Ahlawat introduced her to Sanyal after which her passport was forcibly kept by Sanyal in his custody. She further disclosed about human trafficking of foreign nationals especially of women from Central Asian countries.
Since Ahlawat’s name cropped up, he has been detained by the police and is being intensively quizzed by a special team. During investigation, it was learnt that in 2008 Ahlawat took VRS and since 1989, he has been running a club — Rissala Polo Sports Club in Gurgaon.
The official website of the club reads: “Rissala has been organising polo and equestrian events since 1989. The founder of the club is Colonel Ajay Ahlawat a forth generation Cavalry officer who has served in the elite 16 th & 61 st Cavalry the only horsed cavalry regiment in the world. He has played three polo world cups for India and represented India in over 30 countries.”
Apart from investigating the human trafficking angle, the teams are also grilling him about several property in Delhi and other states. It was learnt that he had made numerous foreign visits in the last six years, for which he was under scanner by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence too.
In 2014, a case of cheating and criminal breach was also registered against Ahlawat at Hauz Khas police station. In 2015, his name also cropped up in the alleged inter-state smuggling case in which 52 kg duplicate gold bars were seized by the DRI in Ahmedabad. Later, it was learnt that these bars were copper and lead bars coated with gold and the consignment was supposed to be replaced with 60 kg gold bars by the SOG. For the same, DRI had sent several notices to Ahlawat to join investigation but he had never replied to any of the four summons.
