Cops prevent communal tension

Rumour mongers in Ghaziabad once again tried to fan communal tension, on the pattern of Masuri incidnt in the city, on Wednesday morning but it was controlled by quick action of police. According to senior police officers, in the morning the news of torn out papers of a sacred book spread in Kail Bhatta area of Kotwali police station. A unit of city police, along with senior officers, immediately reached the spot. ‘It was just a rumour and nothing was found from there,’ said S S Yadav, S P City Ghaziabad. However, police patrol was increased and local vigilance is trying to identify the person behind the rumour. It’s pertinent to mention that it was due to tourn out pages of a holy book that a riot was fuelled in Masuri town in Ghaziabad early in this month. Meanwhile, the situation in Masuri is returning to normalcy.
