Cops nab gang of three, counterfeit currencies worth Rs 4 lakh seized

A gang of three has been arrested by the crime branch of Delhi police for their alleged involvement in the supply of fake Indian currency notes. Fake currencies worth Rs 4 lakh, in denomination of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 have also been seized from the accused.
The accused were identified as Arjun Sharma, 33, Parma Shah, 31, and Satinder Singh, 30. ‘The fake currencies are smuggledthrough the porous Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bangladesh borders into the country’, said Ravindra Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Police.
The counterfeit money trail has been traced to Betiah, West Champaran in Bihar. Based on a tip-off received, a special police team had arrested Arjun and Parma in New Delhi railway station and fake currencies worth Rs 3.5 lakh was recovered from them.
Later on 13 March, Satinder Singh was arrested with fake currencies worth Rs 20,000. ‘A team had been sent to Bihar to nab the main supplier, who is yet to be apprehended’, added Yadav.
Arjun was a teacher in a Bihar government school, who came in touch with one Lal Babu, who is presently behind bars, through Parma.
