Cops nab 3, recover jewellery worth Rs 1 cr

Gold and diamond jewelery worth around Rs 1 crore have been recovered from three juveniles who were apprehended by Delhi police for bag snatching from vehicles. The group of bag snatchers, popularly known as ‘tyre puncture group’ was busted and three juveniles were apprehended. In the recent past, several incidents of bag snatching from the cars by puncturing the tyre of vehicles were reported in various parts of Delhi and NCR. In order to nab the criminals involved in such activities, a team of special staff, was formed. ‘During investigation, we came to know that a bag snatching group of juveniles from Madangir was involved in these incidents,’ said a police official. Specific information was received that members of this juvenile group would assemble at DDA Park, Saket, to proceed further for the disposal of stolen gold and other jewelry articles. The team members laid a trap and apprehended all the three juveniles. On searching, diamond and gold jewellery, a belt made of gold and a motorcycle were recovered.
