Cops arrest two terror operatives

Before Ansar-ul-Tawhid (AUT), the Indian wing of ISIS, could execute a terror strike in the city, Special Cell has detained two operatives. The Special Cell has averted the possible terror strike to be executed during Christmas and New Year celebration in the city.

The names of the operatives, who hail from UP, have not been disclosed by the officials, however, the detention has been confirmed by the officials. According to sources, the operatives have taken Talibani training in Afghanistan. “They have crossed the borders to step into the territory of Pakistan where they stayed for almost six months. Taking the basic training in PoK and the rest of Pakistan, they went to the ‘special Taliban training’ camps in Afghanistan. Achieving a degree of a full-fledged jihadi they went to Tehran where they followed the ideologies of the ISIS,” the source added. During initial investigation they told police that the camps where they took training are the elite training units of terrorist groups such as the LeT. “Pakistan has been training a large number of operatives who are at their first stage of the operation. Once they classify the norms of IS, they will be routed to India to execute a terror strike,” the source added quoting the suspects confession. The AUT was started a year ago by Sultan Armar. However, with conflicting reports of his death being posted on the ISIS media, the outfit is said to be handled now by brother Shafi Armar.

Sources further added that the intelligence agencies have at least 300 Indian youth under the scanner from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, UP, Maharashtra and Kerala who have been recruited into both the Tehrik-e-Taliban , AUT and the IS.
