Cops arrest three for duping ex-Armyman on pretext of ‘rice puller’ deal with NASA

Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested three persons including an ex-government official for cheating an ex-Army personnel of Rs 70 lakh on the pretext of selling rice puller (a fade yellow colour material used by NASA in satellites as described by accused persons).

The accused persons have been identified as Tepeshwar Tyagi (53), Deepak Tiwari (36) and Naresh Kumar Gandhi (65).

According to police, a team of Nasik Police arrived at Delhi and sought assistance in locating and arresting the cheats who have cheated Balraj Singh Parmar, ex-Subedar Major.

The victim came in contact with the accused when Tyagi posed as an agent of a company named “EURISY” stated to be based in France.

He misrepresented that his company deals in purchase and sale of rice pullers (the accused misrepresented that this is an alloy of copper and iridium which is used in satellites or space for generating energy by NASA).

They also misrepresented the complainant that the cost of the rice pullers runs into hundreds of crores.

Tiwari told the complainant that one of his known person was in possession of rice puller and he wanted to sell the same at very cheap rate, which in turn can be sold to the company of Tyagi — “EURISY” for hundreds of crores and the company would sell the same to NASA.

They promised a huge profit within no time. The complainant fell into greed and accepted the proposal. Tiwari also roped in his relative Naresh Kumar Gandhi into the deal and introduced him as an expert who can check and certify, whether rice puller was original or otherwise. After which, the complainant was made to pay Rs 70 lakh. Later, the so-called rice puller was found to be a metal piece.

After the complaint, the team identified the hideouts of the accused persons and apprehended them from different places in Delhi.

Fake identity cards of “EURISY” company, a so-called testing kit for “rice pullers” consisting of compass, a black box, sprays, x-ray plates, mirrors have been recovered from accused persons. Interrogation of accused person has revealed that the gang has cheated 8 to 10 persons with the same modus operandi.
