Cops arrest one of Delhi’s top ten criminals

Ali Sher (35), one of the top ten criminals in Delhi, who had a bountry of Rs 50,000 on his head, has been held. He was nabbed by the Delhi police on 24 May. 

As t Ali Sher was already included in the list of top-ten criminals in Delhi,various teams of Delhi police had been actively trying to arrest the criminal. 

The criminal was hiding  in his native place, Darbangha, Bihar and had been frequently changing his hideouts and mobile phones. Three raids had been conducted in the past one-and-half year by the operation cell of north-west district but every time he managed his escape.

During this period, he started extorting money from property dealers and cable TV operators in the north-west district area with the help of his local henchmen. On 24 May, Delhi police conducted a raid in Darbhanga.  At Sakri-Dharora road, they met an informer who said that Ali Sher would pass through the Lulwa Chowk. The team immediately took their position on the Sakri-Dharora (Darbhanga) near Aara and apprehended the accused Ali Sher after a brief scuffle and chase.

During interrogation, he revealed that he had kidnapped Lalit of Bhalswa Dairy, Delhi on 15 September 2011 and demanded a ransom of Rs. 20 lakh from Lalit's father.
