Cops arrest one for killing hotel owner in Lajpat Nagar

Days after a 60-year-old eatery owner was shot down by five men in Lajpat Nagar 3 area of South-east Delhi, Delhi Police have arrested one of the accused, Mukesh (32) and have also recovered a Maruti Swift car used in the commission of crime, said sources.
Police said that on Monday night at around 10.15 pm, a group of four men had an argument with the staff of an eatery over a bill amount of Rs 1,085.
When the owner, Vasudeo, alias Pappu, intervened, the four left. However, minutes later, the four customers returned with another man. While one of them held Vasuldeo by his collar, the other pumped bullets in his chest and abdomen. Some rounds were also fired to create fear in the minds of the staff of the eatery.
According to the police, the incident took place in the presence of Delhi Police constables who allegedly were not able to get hold of the culprits who passed through the picket. Police have seized the Maruti Swift car in which the group of five men had fled from the crime scene.
Meanwhile, senior police officers allegedly said that they have arrested one of the accused, Mukesh from his residence in Pilanji village and have also recovered the car. Police also allegedly further said that they are interrogating Mukesh to know the whereabouts of the other accused who are still absconding. Further investigation is underway.
