Cop posted at Uma bharti’s residence shoots self

A Delhi police head constable posted at Union Minister Uma Bharti’s residence at Akhbar road shot himself with his service revolver late on Sunday. He is recuperating in a hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical. The reason behind him taking to the extreme step was yet to be ascertained, police said. According to the police, the incident took place around 10.30 pm when the head constable, Brijpal, shot himself at Bharti’s residence. No suicide note has been recovered from his possession, the police said. He was posted in the Delhi Police’s security wing. He is admitted to the RR hospital. The New Delhi district police is carrying out the investigation. The police have informed his family members.
