Convent school driver and cleaner held for molesting students

The driver and cleaner of a school bus carrying students of a convent school in Hauz Khas were arrested on Thursday, allegedly for molesting children and making them watch pornographic clips.
A police official said that Mohammad Shamim and Asgar Ali were arrested after a complaint was received by the police that the two made school children who travelled in the bus watch pornographic clips on mobile phones. The two have been charged under sections 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Earlier on Wednesday, a 57-year old private tutor has been arrested allegedly for sexually abusing several children at his house in Rajendra Nagar.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Sudhir Goyal who runs a private coaching centre in the area, had students aged between 12 to 14 years coming to his house for tuitions. All the victims are boys.It is alleged that the accused had been molesting the children for the last few months and would make them watch pornographic material as well.
It was only a couple of days ago that one of the victims narrated the incident to his teacher who informed the victims’ parents and the police.
The police then conducted a raid on Wednesday and arrested Sudhir. At the time of the raid, 12 children were present at his house. A case under the POCSO has been registered against the offender and he was sent to judicial custody, police said.
