Contract employees working under the Directorate of Health Services, a body under Delhi government has leveled serious charges regarding late payment of salaries and other such discrepancies against the concerned department.
A total of 87 employees, working as computer data entry operators, under the School Health Scheme of the Delhi Health Department, have alleged that salaries due for the month of October are being released in January.
Employees after submitting a letter addressed to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to AAP leader Balbir Singh, demanded appropriate action under the preview of the Labour Act. Disgruntled employees, with Balbir Singh, also staged a demonstration before the deputy labour commissioner (east division) Om Prakash. While speaking to reporters after meeting with the deputy labour commissioner, Balbir Singh, also a labour union leader, said, ‘The officer has summoned health officials of the department to discuss the issue on 13 January at 2 pm.’
