Constable held for raping lady home guard

A police constable, from Nashik district's Manmad, presently attached to the Chhavani police station here was arrested today for allegedly raping a 28-year-old lady home guard, after luring her with a promise that he would marry her, the police said today.

Constable Revnath Karbhari Garud, who is married, started an affair with her an year ago, after which he took to his house or hotel and raped her, the police said.
