Conserving tigers

Inexorable pressures from poaching, burgeoning population and the loss of habitat is adding to the woes of tigers. Going by the figures, we have lost 97% of wild tigers over a century.

They are among the 10 most endangered species in the world. If this cycle continues, we will drive this fierce yet precious natural resource to the point of extinction. On this World Tigers day, being celebrated internationally on 29 July,  Aircel is raising awareness about conservation of tigers in the Capital.

Students from 21 schools of the Capital attended the event wherein tiger experts and environmentalist elaborated on the need to save this vulnerable specie. A movie screening on tiger conservation was followed by the launch of a new digital campaign as a sequel to the Save our Tiger's initiative.
