Congress, split wide open?

It seems like Congress’s main Opposition in the next year assembly elections would be internal differences among leaders.

The over enthusiastic efforts by chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s parliamentary secretary Mukesh Sharma are inviting anger of Congress party MLAs.

On the other hand, a day after the CM convened a mammoth meeting to fast track its preparation for foreign direct investment (FDI) rally, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Jai Prakash Agarwal,  along with AICC general-secretary Oscar Fernandes, addressed a meeting on Friday at DPCC office in connection with the rally.

Agarwal, who is not known to have good relationship with Dikshit, was not present in Thursday’s meeting, though he was invited.

According to sources, many west Delhi MLAs are unhappy with Sharma, as the latter is seen as encroaching on their constituencies by holding small gatherings in the name of chief minister.

In the wake of Congress’ Maharally, Dikshit instructed all party MLAs to hold rallies and educate dwellers of their area regarding FDI and its benefits.

Just a week ago, Dikshit addressed a mammoth rally at Goyala Dairy, Dwarka, where local MP Mahabal Mishra and local MLA Somesh Shokeen was also present.
