Ruling out any alliance between his party and the Trinamool Congress in the current political scenario, Congress general secretary Oscar Fernandes said here Sunday that contrary to Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee’s assertion, the UPA government would complete its term.
‘We have enough MPs. So I don’t think there is any possibility of the next general elections being held in the next two-three months.
‘We will complete our term. Our term will expire only in the month of May 2014. And then only the next round of elections will be held,’ Fernandes said.
Two days back Banerjee had predicted that the Lok Sabha polls would be held within the next two-three months. Fernandes said: ‘If you see the present political situation, there is no such plan or contingency. We cannot see such things.’
