Congress legislators decided to give a miss to the one-day orientation programme for Delhi MLAs on Friday.
21 legislators of AAP including Manish Sisodia and BJP’s nine MLAs participated in the programme, jointly organised by Delhi Secretariat and Bureau of Legislative Studies in Delhi Vidhan Sabha.
‘Such orientation programme should be organized from time to time for the MLAs to equip them with information and knowledge about the functioning of the legislative assembly’, said MS Dhir, speaker of Delhi’s legislative assembly.
Dhir said that the programmed will give legislators full knowledge on how to raise issues in the assembly in limited time. ‘Legislators should be well equipped for taking up of their causes with full knowledge of rules’, he added.
The first edition of this programme was inaugurated by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
