Cong workers vent fury against Centre’s land bill, DND disrupted

In a move to mark their protest against ordinance on land acquisition bill by the Central Government, Scores of workers of Congress on Friday freed DND toll plaza for commuters. The party workers, who had taken hoardings and banners, reached the plaza without prior information late morning and forced open toll booths by sitting at the site.
The entire drama continued for nearly one hour during which more than four thousands vehicles enjoyed free ride of flyway,that connects Noida to the national Capital directly, causing loss of over one lakh rupees to the toll operator. The mob was dispersed when police detained the protesters and took them away from the plaza.
As per the report, more than hundred party workers along with local leaders reached the DND flyway with the motive to halt traffic volume of the carriageway. Amid media presence, the protesters got out of control and forced toll staff to leave the booths. The protesters opened booths of both sides of the carriageway allowing road users free ride. The workers also set effigy of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on fire demanding roll back of ordinance. They were later detained by the local police.
