In a bid to regain lost ground, Delhi Congress leaders have invited all former party members from the Jat and Gujjar community to join the party.
On Tuesday, two former Congress leaders Veer Singh Bidhuri, who had contested from Sangam Vihar Assembly constituency and Surender Panwar from Mehrauli Assembly constituency on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket, joined the party.
With re-induction of a Jat and a Gujjar leader, the party is aiming to capture significant vote banks of these two castes in the South Delhi parliamentary constituency.
South Delhi MP Ramesh Kumar, former Delhi Assembly speaker Yoganand Shastri, party MLA and former minister Harun Yusuf, chief spokesperson of Delhi Congress Mukesh Sharma and other senior party leaders felicitated Panwar and Bidhuri.
