Delhi Urban Development & Revenue Minister Arvinder Singh on Friday claimed that the Delhi government has fulfilled its promise with respect to registration of sale and transfer of properties in private lands of unauthorized colonies. He was speaking at the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
The Delhi government had regularised 895 unauthorised colonies in 2012.
BJP MLA Saheb Singh Chauhan objected that the order mentioned very clearly that ‘in respect of category(B) and(C) lands, the registration of sale and transfer of properties will be allowed after withdrawal of notification issued for acquisition or de-notification of the land under section 48 of Land Acquisition Act, as the case may be.’
As far as after withdrawal of notification issued for acquisition, or de-notification is concerned, it is a difficult task for the government. But Arvinder Singh assured the House that the governmnet has got consent from Raj-Nivas on these issues.
Delhi Government had notified 895 Unauthorised Colonies, out of the total 895 unauthorised colonies, 312 were on private land and the remaining 583 on government land.
The Illegal Colonies Guidelines says that in the fiisrt phase, the owners of properties on the private land will get the title and secondly owner will be allowed to deposit the necessary conversion charges and get their properties registered.
HOUSE QUESTIONS LACK OF FUND USE FOR DEVELOPMENT IN UNAUTHORISED COLONIES
Delhi Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh was left red-faced in the Assembly, when members criticised the government, saying that the MLA Local Areas Development fund is not being utilised for development in Unauthorised Colonies.
The question was asked by Mundka MLA Manoj Kumar. The Urban Minister said that ‘The Urban Development Department had issued necessary guidelines for developmental works to start in Unauthorised Colonies. Senior Congress MLA and former speaker of Delhi Assembly Chaudhary Prem Singh raised the issues of Sainik Farm, the name of which has been included in the list of notified Unauthorised colonies.
