Conference on good urban governance kick started

The eleventh international conference and exhibition on Good Urban Governance for Safe, Healthy, Green, Inclusive and Smart Cities, Municipalika 2013, was inaugurated by Sudhir Krishna, secretary, Ministry of Urban Development at the India Expo Center, Delhi-NCR.
The event is also show casing UN Habitat’s flagship ‘I am a City Changer’ campaign. A web site, with news and views on urban development from around the world, a CD containing conference presentations and the exhibition directory were also launched on the occasion.
There will be sessions discussing urban reform agenda – policies and strategies, best practices, disaster prevention and mitigation strategies. Three parallel sessions on healthy cities, water supply, urban sanitation and waste water management will discuss micro-level problems and debate best solutions. Under the Green Cities, sustainable urban transportation and traffic management and energy-efficient, sustainable built-environment and communities will be discussed with solutions for sustainable, green environments.
