Compounder held guilty of molesting woman at clinic

A court here has convicted a compounder of a private clinic for outraging the modesty of a woman patient on the pretext of checking her blood pressure.

Metropolitan magistrate Richa Parihar in her order delivered on Wednesday convicted Jeevan, who was working as a compounder in a private clinic in Patparganj of east Delhi, on the charges of outraging the modesty of a woman.

According to the prosecution, the woman visited the clinic on 20 October, 2009, around 11.30 am.
At that time, the doctor was not available. Jeevan asked the victim to come inside the clinic cabin and lie on the bed for check-up. On the pretext of checking blood pressure, he molested her.

Following a complaint, police filed charge sheet on 29 March, 2010, and the court framed charges on 293 May, 2011.

However, Jeevan pleaded not guilty and claimed a false case was lodged because an altercation had taken place between them regarding payment of fees.
