In another blow to English department of University of Delhi (DU), a complain has been filed against professor Baidik Bhattacharya for using foul language on a social networking site against another teacher.
The conversation on DU teachers’ group on Facebook turned ugly when Bhattacharya used foul language against Surendra Kumar, a professor of History department at DU. Many teachers commented against the use of language by Bhattacharya.
‘We expect some kind of morality from a postgraduate teacher. We teach students and such instances send wrong message. He used such a pathetic language. I have asked pro vice-chancellor to take necessary actions,’ said Surendra Kumar.
The students of DU also took out a protest march against Baidik Bhattacharya on Tuesday. ‘The comments very discriminatory in nature. We condemn such act by a professor’ said Ashish Singh, a student said.
DU’s English department was recently in news for the dismal teaching skills of three newly-appointed teachers. Around 150 post graduate students wrote letter to VC requesting them to replace those teachers.
