Coal scam: Agency files original docs in court in JIPL case

CBI on Monday filed in a special court some original documents pertaining to a coal blocks allocation scam case involving Jharkhand Ispat Pvt Ltd (JIPL) and its two directors. The agency's move came after the court last week directed it to deposit the original case files before it on being informed by the public prosecutor that original files could be required during the course of investigation in some other cases.
The court had April 1 also said that for the purpose of investigation in other cases, photocopies of these original documents should be retained by the agency. The court heard a CBI plea on admission and denial of documents by the accused.
