Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged school children to insist their parents upon the maximum use of public transport in order to save the city from traffic hazards.

Kejriwal was the chief guest at a function organised by the Environment Department to celebrate Earth Day in the Delhi Secretariat.

On the occasion, Delhi environment minister Asim Ahmed Khan presided over the function. Environment secretary Sanjeev Kumar; additional secretary Kulanand Joshi; director, environment, Anil Kumar; senior scientific officer B C Sawat and other officers of Environment and Forest Department, apart from school children and teachers, were present.

“We are having serious discussions on environment issues like climate changes, traffic hazards, air, water pollution, sanitation, greenery and energy conservation,” said Kejriwal.
