Keeping an eye on next year assembly elections, chief minister Sheila Dikshit would meet union urban development (UD) minister on Monday. If sources are to be believed, in the next week, Delhi government would issue notification regarding 917 unauthorised colonies.
Sources said apart from regularisation of 917 colonies cleared from all angles, the remaining colonies facing objections from the Department of Forests and ASI would also be regularised.
Officials from Delhi's urban development said that the residents of 45 rehabilitation colonies will also soon to get ownership right.
On Friday, Parliamentary Secretary to CM, Mukesh Sharma, said that strong will power is a must to take a bold decision to regularise unauthorised colonies.
Sharma exhorted to BJP to stop politicising the issue of regularising of colonies as Congress-ruled Delhi government has always been trying to protect the interests of traders and capitalists.
Meanwhile, Delhi government has spent over Rs 3,500 crore on development works in unauthorised colonies.
