CM inaugurates girls’ hostel

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday said that more working women hostel would be constructed in various parts of the Capital. Dikshit was inaugurating Girls’ Hostel at Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Pitampura in north-west Delhi.
While congratulating students of this college for getting a new hostel, Dikshit hoped that this would help provide a good quality of higher education, along with hostel, to the students living in far off places, thus enabling them to realise their dream of having education from a secure, home-like environment.
The Chief Minister further said that more than 30 working women hostels are already running in the Capital. She also informed that 12 colleges of University of Delhi are fully funded by Delhi Government.
Dikshit said that the Delhi Government is concerned about the women empowerment.
‘In this regard, Delhi government is running various schemes and programmes to change and uplift the women in the society,’ she added.
