‘CM has given instructions for Chhat puja’

‘Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit instructed all departments concerned to make arrangements for Chhat Puja, which will be celebrated across six days after Diwali’, said Parliamentary Secretary to CM, Mukesh Sharma, on Friday.
The civic agencies have also been alerted to ensure cleanliness and sanitation around Chhat ghats. Sharma added that the government led by Dikshit has all sympathies for Poorvanchalis and has been working to nurture Poorvanchali culture. Delhi government has set up a separate Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy to further the cause of literary activities. Sharma along with working president, World Bhojpuri Sammelan, Ajit Dubey, initiated construction work of a Chhat Ghat at Najafgarh Canal and a Chhat Park in Vipin Garden Extn.
