Cluster bus hits bike, cars; injures four

The cops impounded the vehicle and later in the evening arrested the errant driver.The incident took place at around 9 am, when the driver of the cluster bus first hit a motorcycle following which the driver jumped out of the running bus. This resulted in the bus ramming into a Wagon R which further created a pile up.After hitting several moving and parked vehicles, the bus finally came to a halt.

“The accident occurred at around 9 am when the cluster bus, run by Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), was heading from Najafgarh to Kapashera. The driver of the bus fled from the spot after the accident in which four persons were injured,” said a police officer. The injured persons includes two persons riding bikes and two persons sitting in a car. Meanwhile, the locals gathered at the spot and blocked the carriageway resulting into traffic snarls. When the police were informed, the victims were rushed to the nearby hospital.

“We have registered a case against the unidentified driver at Kapasera police station and seized the cluster bus from the spot. Further investigations in the matter is on,” said the police official.
