Club Billionaire flouts rules, five policemen suspended

On Friday, five <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Delhi policemen were suspended after failing to prevent the sale of liquor to underage customers at an eating joint-cum-bar in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area. The bar was found to be running beyond the stipulated time-line that is till 12 am.
On the basis of information received by the police at around 3 am on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, complaining about the noise pollution in the area, a raid was conducted at <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Club Billionaire. Surprisingly, it was found that around 100 people were the part of a party inside the bar and the liquor was being served without paying any attention to the age of customers.
Immediately, all 100 persons, including 13 minors, were detained and underwent <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">medical examination, confirming that most of them were under the influence of alcohol. After counseling, all 13 minors, were handed over to their parents with a warning. However, the remaining 87 have been detained and booked for violating laws.
The team which conducted the raid demanded the licence for running the bar with the eating joint. However, the owner failed to produce the licence, following which he was arrested.
‘The suspended police officers include one <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">head constable, three constables and a sub-inspector,’ <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">a police officer said. The police official added that in the recent past, the pub has been challenged twice. However, the owner was running the pub violating all rules and regulations that are mandatory for these pubs to follow.
