Classy Yuvraj fashions Indian victory

Yuvraj Singh made a remarkable comeback to international circuit with an unbeaten 77 to help India crush Australia by six wickets at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Yuvraj Singh cracked a blazing 25-ball half-century to put Australia on backfoot. Yuvraj started dealing in fours and sixes after losing Virat Kohli and led Indian fightback against Australia.

India found themselves in spot of bother as they lost wickets their four wickets at the score 100 in 11.1 overs.

Australian pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile gave India second blow by removing Suresh Raina. Raina tried to push India’s chase Rohit Sharma’s dismissal as he added 38-run for the second wicket Shikhar Dhawan.  Xavier Doherty also joined the party dismissing Dhawan to leave stuttering at 80/3 in 8.3 overs. Dhawan’s 19-ball 32 run knock was studded with five boundaries.

India suffered an early blow when Australian pacer Clint McKay struck to dismiss Rohit Sharma cheaply.  Aaron Finch bludgeoned his way to a 52-ball 89 as Australia posted a challenging 201 for seven against India in the one-off Twenty20 cricket International at SCA stadium on Thursday.

Australian batsmen made merry on a flat wicket as they fired in unison but intermittent wickets kept India in hunt. Finch plundered 15 boundaries, including a six, and anchored the Australian innings after being invited to bat.

Had it not been some exceptional bowling by pace duo of R Vinay Kumar (3/26) and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (3/25), who shared six wickets between them, India would have been in more deep trouble.  Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, playing his first T20 at home, played a crucial part in the hosts’ recovery as he gave away just 23 runs in his four overs and also got a wicket.
