In a shocking incident, an XIth class student committed suicide allegedly after being tortured by three policemen in east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area. The cops have been suspended after such allegations were framed on them.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning when mother of Anupam (17) went to his room to call him for breakfast but found the door locked from inside. With the help of other family member, the door was broke open and she discovered her son hanging from the ceiling fan.
When a police team reached the spot, the family members said that on Monday late evening three policemen including a constable and two sub-inspectors caught him and blamed him for stealing a motorcycle. They allegedly took him to the police station and forcibly made him confess his involvement in the crime. The trio also demanded Rs 10,000 to give him a clean chit in the case.
On Tuesday morning he committed suicide. ‘We have suspended all three policemen till further inquiry,’ a police officer said, adding that so far no suicide note has been found from his possession.
