In yet another case of crime committed against minors in the national capital, a class X girl was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint by five persons at Uttam Nagar in west Delhi. The matter came to light when her parents reported the incident to the police, on Tuesday, and three people were apprehended.
The incident took place on 19 July, when the girl was on her way to school. She also accused that the people allegedly involved in the crime had shot a video of the act on a mobile phone and blackmailed her into keeping mum, said a police official.
He further said, of the three people apprehended in the incident till Tuesday evening, two have been found to be minors. And one among the two absconding persons is a minor too.
‘Two minors and the 20-year-old accused, named Surendra Pahelwan, were arrested from their respective residences after the complaint was received,’ said a senior police official.
According to a source, four of the accused persons – of which, two were known to the victim – met the her on 19 July, when she was heading towards her school and somehow managed to take her to the apartment of the fifth accused, who pretended to be a cop and held the victim at gun-point, in West Delhi. Later, all of them allegedly raped her in turns.
The victim was extremely traumatised and didn’t attend school ever since the incident happened. On Tuesday, she started feeling sick and disclosed the ordeal to her parents, who later told the police.
