Civic bodies should improve standard of education: Jaitley

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitely said the role of schools of civic bodies are crucial in transforming the lives of children and suggested the civic bodies to make extra effort to improve the standard of eduction.
‘Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs) should try hard to improve the standard of education so that there is a overall development of the students,’ said Jaitely at the Children’s Day function of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) at Ambedkar Stadium. ‘The three municipal corporations of Delhi has almost nine lakh students and they provide primary education to children. The role of primary schools is crucial in transforming the lives of children, who are unaware of the worldly things,’ added Jaitely.
Dressed in traditional dresses, around 2,400 students of SDMC’s primary schools danced, did aerobics and exercises and spread the message of ‘One India’ as they celebrated the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
BJP Delhi Pradesh leader Vijender Gupta lauded the effforts of the civic bodies in providing facilities at par with private schools and told them to work for their overall development.
Mayor of south Delhi, Savita Gupta talked about the efforts taken by SDMC to achieve 100 per cent literacy rate.
