Civic bodies, RWAs organise Diwali melas

It’s the season of ‘Deepawali Mangal Milan’ and ‘Deepawali Mela’ in the city. And the hosts are politicians, RWAs, malls and shopping centres.
‘Deepawali Mangal Milan’ has become famous among cicic body administrators in the city as all the three mayors and some chairpersons of committees have hosted such parties in last week. However, among congress leaders, only Varyam Kaum, Leader of Opposition in East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) have joined the group. More ‘Deepawali Mangal Milan’ parties are in the offing on Monday.
Not only the councillors, the legislators (MLAs) of both the parties and prominent office bearers have also either thrown parties or planning for one on Monday.
RWAs in Delhi and NCR have also thrown such parties for residents. For instance, a deepawali mela was organised in Gaur Heights and Mahagun Villa on Saturday. The Chairman of the RWA Federation Ghaziabad, Tejandra Pal Tyagi, was the chief guest. Various competitions such as rangoli and painting were held. Such melas are being organised in most of the societies of Delhi, Noida,Vaishali, Indrapuram and Raj Nagar Extension.
