City, South Bengal may witness heavy rainfall in next 24 hours

The Alipore Meteorological department has predicted that thunder storm accompanied by moderate to heavy rain may hit the city and various South Bengal districts in the next 24 hours.
Though the city and its adjoining areas witnessed rain with strong wind on Saturday evening, it had no impact on the temperature.

The wind that had swept through various parts of South Bengal and some areas in North Bengal brought some respite from the excessive heat as the temperature had dipped by some notches.
But on Sunday afternoon the city dwellers also felt the sultry and discomfort weather due to excessive humidity. According to the weather office, the uneasiness and discomfort is not going to leave as of now. According to the prediction by the Met department, hailstorm is likely to take place in Howrah, Midnapore East and West, South 24-Parganas.

The Met department also predicted that sky will remain cloudy in the next 24 hours. City residents will feel the discomfort as the high level humidity will prevail in the air at least in next 24 hours.

According to Met office, a low pressure area is intensifying with a possibility of bringing more rain in various parts of West Bengal.
