Northern Railway is constructing one of the largest underpasses of the country under Railways track near Sarita Vihar. This underpass is being constructed using advanced box pushing technique. This is probably the largest underpass being constructed by using the technique with uninterrupted train movement. The underpass at Sarita Vihar within Railway boundary is being executed by Northern Railway on behalf of the Delhi Development Auathority. This underpass connects Okhla Industrial Area with Kalindi Kunj on Noida side. After construction of this underpass, the length of road route from Sarita Vihar to Okhla will be reduce to 1 km from the existing 9 km.  

Twenty-five fire tenders are still trying to put out the fire that broke on Saturday night at a godown for electronics goods in the Kalkaji area in south Delhi. No casualties were reported, fire officials said. ‘The flames are still to be fully doused at the godwon in the Kalakaji area in south Delhi. The fire tenders are trying to put out the fire,’ an official said. 

A fire broke out in the X-ray room of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital here this evening, fire officials said. The fire was reported at around 6.33 pm and saw four fire tenders being dispatched to the spot, they said, adding that no injuries are reported in the blaze. The fire in the X-ray room on the hospital’s ground floor was brought under control within an hour, they said.

Six persons, including two Delhi police constables, have been arrested for allegedly extorting Rs 3 lakh from a man and running a sex and extortion racket in Rani Bagh locality. Constables Manoj Kumar, from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, and Pawan Kumar, a resident of Mangol Puri, were arrested following a complaint by a man that he was asked to pay Rs three lakh by cops for not registering a case of rape against him, police said on Sunday. According to complainant, he was lured by a woman and her associate in Rani Bagh, a senior official said.
